**Experience:** Minimum 1.5 years with experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit (SD/PCU); travel experience preferred; some level 1 or 2 preferred
**License:** Any state RN license accepted; compact license now accepted
**Certifications:** BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with EPIC
- Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
- Ability to read and interpret strips
- IV start skills
**Job Description:**
- The position requires working on a Cardiac Telemetry Unit, focusing on patients with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, post-procedure recovery, COPD exacerbation, and drug or alcohol overdose and withdrawal.
- Nurses must be competent to run IV drips including but not limited to: heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin.
- Targeted patient ratios are 1:5-6.
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
- May be required to float to a high-risk respiratory unit/COVID unit at the discretion of the facility.
- Travelers must be the first to float within specialty clusters as needed.
- May require floating to main campus or nearby campuses under 15 miles from the main campus.
- Cancellation policy includes up to three shifts due to low census in a 13-week contract.
- Must be willing to work in Navy Blue scrubs.
- Compliance with flu vaccine requirement, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
- Completion of lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing contract with proof by the Wednesday before the start of assignment.
