Summary
The Licensed Customs Brokerage / Branch Manager reports to the LOGISTEED America, Inc. VP of Freight Forwarding Operations and other key executives, and will oversee the activities of the Customs Brokerage operations and the Branch Manager responsibilities within Monterey Park Branch. This role will primarily be responsible for setting policies, procedures, and direction of the branch. - Act as Qualifying Permit Holder for local Customs Brokerage Permit
- Communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
- Responsible for Customs activities and management of staff of the Los Angeles area
- Audit entry summaries processed by the team/ Perform regular audits of entries and HTS classifications
- Process ACH duty payments for Seattle Branch and multiple importer ACH clients.
- Responsible for PMS/Monthly Duty statement -Import Declaration Reports to importers on PMS.
- Review Powers of Attorney for completeness.
- Subject matter expert for various regulatory and classification matters.
- Entry Writer for new business - onboard new accounts and process entries as needed.
- Assist importers when questioning HTS classifications and Section 301 tariffs and exclusions.
- Filed Post Summary Corrections and Protests, for duty exclusions and other miscellaneous issues.
- Determined complex classification, duty, and PGA requirements for the brokerage team.
- Process Binding Ruling requests.
- Monitor trade restrictions, general prohibitions, new legislation, and new import requirements
- Close intervention with management and/or staff to resolve issues.
- Review and evaluate account profitability, performance and KPI's and establish plans to address any budgetary or operational shortfalls.
- Align the branch's systems and processes with the company's mission and to achieve the desired results for business growth.
- Plan and identify the appropriate resources (staffing, training, equipment, and systems) to ensure the delivery of quality services that meet and exceed the customer's expectations.
- Increase sales with potential clients with goal of growth in business.
- Maintain full compliance with U.S. government agencies.
- Establish relationships with steamship lines, agents, government agencies, docks, trucking companies and all other entities involved to achieve sustainable results.
- Involved with the creation and maintaining standard operating procedures.

Previous Work Experience
- Positive reviews from previous work experience and customers
- Understanding of and experience in financial management of a branch (P&L, balance sheet, forecasting, and budgets) required
Education and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Post-secondary education preferred
Experience Requirements and Preferences
- Currently holds an active U. S. license as a Customs Broker
- A minimum of 7+ years management experience in Customs brokerage is required
- Progressive leadership roles with proven leadership skills and team building results
- Proven strong business acumen
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Fluency in English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be accurate and thorough, apply feedback to improve performance, monitor quality of work, gather and analyze information skillfully
