Position: Staff Accountant
Reports To: VP of Finance, Controller
Key Relationships: Apres Cru Partners, Salaried Managers, Vendors
About the Position
The Staff Accountant (“SA”) is responsible for nurturing the financial culture of Apres Cru and its portfolio brands. SA will play a critical role in the financial reporting process and oversee all aspects of the P&L. Coaching and teaching financial acumen is critical to developing industry leading practices within the operations, and we expect SA to be a champion of the financials. The position requires close working relationships with Apres Cru VP of Finance, Apres Cru Partners as well as restaurant level operators, participating in regularly scheduled operation financial meetings.

Key responsibilities:
- All accounting and bookkeeping functions for Apres Cru and its portfolio companies
- Leveraging technology to maximize efficiency and
- Consistently executing accurate and timely accounting reports
- Leading the accounts payable process and developing relationships with vendors
- Recording daily sales and producing accurate weekly financials reports
This individual will mostly work remote but is expected to visit restaurants every week or two as needed. They will also be actively involved in daily accounting for all portfolio companies as well as Apres Cru. The SA will work closely with restaurant operations to ensure accurate and timely reports.
Additional Skills and Responsibilities:
- Execute consistent daily, weekly, monthly reporting
- Process accounts payable and reconcile statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for
- Reconcile tips sheets on weekly basis to ensure tips are paid out correctly
- Record weekly payroll activity
- Assist with and audit inventory counts, enter weekly inventory into accounting system
- Preparation of weekly and monthly financial statements
- Create and nurture a business minded culture of operating restaurants
- Working closely with operators to resolve ad hoc issues, such as COD or credit holds
- Monthly Sales tax filing

Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree required, Accounting or Finance degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in an accounting role
- Passion for excellence and attention to detail
- Experience in hospitality is a plus
- CPA and/or MBA is preferred
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Quickbook Online, Sage Intacct, Craftable and Marginedge
