About Earned Wealth

Earned Wealth is disrupting wealth management through a platform verticalized for physicians. We take accountability for better financial outcomes - something lacking in the industry. We exist to liberate physicians - from residency through to retirement - from financial stress so they can focus on what they do best. Our ambition is to deliver unique and first-in-class financial products that are highly personalized around physician needs and delivered in a comprehensive, coordinated, technology-centric and automated way. The product delivers a stunning increase in physician financial outcomes.

We are a highly experienced team backed by leading investors who have successfully launched businesses across healthcare and technology.

Job Summary :

This is a unique opportunity to join a startup with strong traction (substantial funding, tremendous growth, and many happy customers). At the same time, we are still small enough that you will have a meaningful impact, with meaningful equity participation, and play a massive role in shaping our company culture.

Our technology vision is to deliver comprehensive and value-added wealth management services through technology, with three key differentiators:

  • Best-in-class fintech-grade UI/UX, that delivers comprehensive and alpha-generating wealth management services customized for physicians;
  • Best-in-class automation built within our technology stack to better service busy physician clients and scale our operations and advisory services;
  • Patented “Intelligent Advice Engine” with ML-based optimization algorithms delivering more robust and integrated financial recommendations across our 7 wealth domains (investments, tax, insurance, trust & estate, lending, banking, career).

In an industry that lacks both individual guidance and support, our technology and teams are here to provide a technology-centric and personalized approach to Wealth Management and Financial Advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop scalable, reusable microservice-based systems using AWS and Infrastructure as Code (CDK) for automations and applications in wealth management.
  • Build robust APIs and backend automation workflows that support complex AI-enabled financial services operations.
  • Enhance the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of backend infrastructure by optimizing code and leveraging AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to develop excellent data models, ensure easy-to-consume APIs, and guarantee seamless execution of backend processes.
  • Develop and maintain databases and datasets, while implementing automations that adhere to best practices in security, scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
  • Own and continually refine developer workflows and CI/CD pipelines, integrating AI and automation to maximize efficiency and reduce manual interventions.

Key Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in backend engineering, showcasing proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Demonstrable expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservice architectures.
  • Experience working with infrastructure as code on AWS, with services such as SQS, API Gateway, Lambda, and S3.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB / MongoDB and PostgreSQL / MySQL, comfortable writing complex queries and designing efficient data models.
  • Hands-on involvement in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions / AWS CodePipeline / Jenkins, with a focus on automated testing and deployment.
  • Good understanding of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption techniques.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and architectural principles, with an emphasis on building maintainable and extensible codebases.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, designers, and product managers.

Key Attributes:

  • Agile, quick self-learner, highly self-motivated with a strong sense of product ownership, and creative problem solver.
  • Deeply passionate about software coding/development and building scalable backend systems and APIs.
  • Growth mindset and self-starter attitude; adept at identifying new opportunities and driving their implementation from conception to deployment without extensive guidance.
  • Ability to lead independent research to solve complex technical problems.
  • Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast-moving, distributed team environment.

Benefits

  • An attractive total compensation package
  • Employer-sponsored health insurance (medical, dental, vision)
  • Free One Medical membership and access to TalkSpace
  • 401k + 4% match
  • Flexible paid time off
