Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is seeking an Assessment Assistant to administer various types of certification and assessment exams to students and to qualified workforce candidates.
This position will work closely with the Testing Services Coordinator with the primary responsibilities to:
Provide certification and assessment administration according to designated proctor policies and procedures.
Assist in occasional off-site testing as directed by manager.
Provide limited hardware and software troubleshooting, including calls to vendor Tech Support.
Maintain accurate records of all assessment and certification services provided. Adjust testing procedures for individuals according to documentation provided by the
DSS Coordinator prior to testing sessions. Complete all required exam proctor training and stay current with ongoing training and proctor certification.
Enter, update, & disposition CASS appointments.
Respond to customer queries.
Promote, demonstrate, and maintain a professional manner and appearance. Assist with keeping the assessment and certification centers clean, supplied, and well maintained. Be willing to work flexible and expanded hours when the need arises and during heavy volume testing.
Other related or appropriate duties as required.
Computer familiarity (able to do basic system troubleshooting, perform software upgrades, etc.). Ability to work well with public and independently. Must be able to pass vendor required proctor certifications. Must be detail oriented and be able to multitask.
Ability to develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of all testing center and vendor policies, procedures, materials, and available assessments and certifications offered.
Must possess excellent relationship-building skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) college and school personnel, teachers, and prospective students. Must possess practical communication skills (phone, email, and written) and experience in public speaking. Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) is required; experience with a Customer Relationship Management tool is preferred. Associate's Degree in Administrative Office Technology or related degree preferred, and two years of office administration experience, or equivalent experience required. A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience is preferred.
Must be able to pass a background check and be able to work with high school-age students.
Must have a valid Driver's License
