- AT WILL EMPLOYMENT: All Team Members are employed on an at-will basis, meaning that either the Team Member or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time at their sole discretion and without cause. Neither this letter nor any other communication by a representative of the management of the Company other than in writing and signed by one of the Partners can vary this policy or create a contract of permanent employment for a specified period of time.
- EMPLOYMENT POLICIES: The policies set forth in the Rancho de los Caballeros Team Member Handbook (“Handbook”) are applicable to your employment. To the extent the terms of this offer letter conflict with the policies set forth in the Handbook, the provisions of this offer letter control.
- CONFIDENTIALITY: You acknowledge that you will be in a position of trust and confidence with RDLC and the Hotel, and that during the course of your employment you will receive and be exposed to material and other information concerning its customers or clients, its standard operating procedures and practices, its sales, marketing, price information, Average Daily Rates, RevPar, and financial information; and other information which is proprietary in nature, confidential to RDLC Hotel, and not generally available to the public or to the competitors of RDLC Hotel, and which, if used or divulged would irreparably damage RDLC Hotel’s ability to compete in the marketplace (“Confidential Information”). You agree not to possess, use or disclose to any person or entity any Confidential Information without the prior, written consent of RDLC, or except as may be required by court order, statute, law, or regulation.
Direct and instruct the management staff in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified and efficient employees. Conduct interviews for all management positions.
- Ensure that employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of all training programs. Instruct training classes, analyze and review current and proposed methods, consult with and make recommendations to the management staff for improvement.
- Performs initial screening interview with qualified a candidate by engaging in conversation that will give insight into information such as an individual's experience, ability and interest in an available position.
- Conduct telephone and written reference checks on qualified applicants by asking their previous employer(s) questions to gather information such as a previous employee's performance and attitude to assist in making a hiring decision. Processes paperwork including requisition process and hiring documentation organizes and maintains position records.
- Conducts New Hire Orientation training by using many types of media such as slides, videos, and music to welcome new employees and inform them of the history of the Ranch, policies, procedures and philosophies. Instructs new employees in completion of necessary paperwork. Visually review documents for accuracy.
- Consults with department managers as to current openings and status of interviewed candidates. Conducts Interviewing skill's seminar for managers.
- Coordinates the Ranch's Quality Assurance program. The complete understanding of the hotel's service standards by reporting the format and the creation/design of related training and incentive programs to encourage consistent services by the employees to customers. Must analyze reports to determine areas of strengths and weaknesses and follow-up with personnel to assure corrective measures are taken.
- Counsels and/or disciplines employees as needed, through clear, calm and direct oral and written communication, in accordance with the guidelines established by the hotel.
- Responds to and negotiates on behalf of the hotel, all claims for unemployment and Workers Compensation.
- Supervises departmental and hotel staff regarding all issues relating to workers' compensation to ensure minimum exposure by the hotel to related expenses.
- Assists in or prepares periodic reports relating to the Human resource function (e.g., EEO, labor turnover) through the use of a moderately complex computer system and written reports.
- Monitor the employee performance appraisal programs to ensure reviews are timely. Read and analyze evaluations and goals to ensure appraisal comments are appropriate and goals are measurable and achievable. Direct and administer employee relations programs and activities such as employee recognition and service award ceremonies, social functions and general hotel meetings to maintain a positive employee relations climate.
- Develop, implement and administer policies and programs related to the management of all hotel personnel to ensure the maintenance of a positive and productive employment environment. Monitor same for fair and consistent application.
- Coordinate and/or present corporate training programs, such as Ranch Supervisor Development, new team member orientation sessions and related training to meet specific departmental needs.
- Track, enter and maintain all individual employee training records of in-house programs, including department orientation records for new hires.
- Oversee and monitor all departmental training programs, i.e., Alcohol Awareness, by conducting audits and making recommendations for compliance.
- Develop annual training calendar. Compile monthly and quarterly reports of training activity.
- Ensure compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations, and court rulings that pertain to Human Resources by reviewing current management practices, implementing new procedures and communicating verbally and in writing any new requirements. Supervise Affirmative Action program.
- Provide assistance, guidance and counseling to the General Manager, management staff and line employees to maximize the quality and professionalism of the hotel staff by listening and interpreting concerns and objectives and seeking solutions.
- Control the administration of wages and benefits to ensure the accurate and equitable application of the same, analyzing and applying information retrieved from moderately complex reports, manuals' and/or computer systems.
- Review and appraise all personnel changes and paperwork for merit and accuracy. Approve all required Human Resource forms such as Personnel Authorizations and Employment Requisitions.
- Receive and issue all uniforms. Issues all uniforms on an exchange basis only, to maintain uniform control. Store old uniforms until otherwise directed by management.
- Position in based on property and Manager is required to be on property 5-days per week.
