Some things you can expect to do:
Work with project teams to lead and manage the full range of preconstruction phase activities, including estimating, design management, and project development.
Perform accurate and thoughtful quantity take-offs of all construction systems and summarize data meaningfully.
Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, OST, DESTINI Estimator, Building Connected, or other estimating and bid solicitation platforms.
Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements.
Record final estimates and maintain cost history.
Support the development, architectural, and construction teams with preconstruction expertise, including value design, costs, project schedule, procurement, and project pursuits.
Train estimators, cost engineers, and project management staff.
Provide direction for understanding project scope, market pricing, and available resources.
Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets of all types; capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with trade partners as well as designers and engineering firms.
To be successful in this role you must have:
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management
At least 10+ years of proven experience in the commercial construction industry.
You will really stand out if you:
Understand construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods.
Have proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.
Have subject matter expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, OST, DESTINI Estimator, Building Connected, and BIM360.
Communicate proactively and effectively, focus on customers, and display a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
Have a history of estimating multi-family, medical, or cold storage construction.
Have established working relationships with trade partners throughout the Great Lakes region, serving various market sectors.

Compensation:
The annual salary range is $137,000-$171,250 per year . The salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
