POSITION SUMMARY
This position is accountable for Home Health billing activities. Individual will be responsible for submission of all claims, collections, and other accounts receivable functions of the agency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review Medicare requirements for submission of Home Health claims.
    • Verifying POC and Physician orders are signed,
    • Frequencies are followed,
    • Medicare Affirmation received,
    • Proper HCPCS coding used for all services provided,
    • Supplies entered when applicable and
    • Complete all other areas of chart audit.
  • Review client data and collaborate with clinical staff and supervisor to ensure accuracy for claims submission.
  • Monitor claims submission and acknowledgments to payer and correct claim denials.
  • Submission and tracking of NOAs and OASIS exports daily.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all payer contracts and follows specific requirements of each account when submitting claims.
  • Completes all reports tasked by supervisor/management team within a timely manner.
  • Ensures confidentiality of patient and agency information through effective controls.
  • Verifies signed physician orders prior to claim submission.
  • Performs job in compliance with agency policies and applicable laws.
  • Communicates necessary information to management staff to assure accuracy of data and coordination of agency functions.
  • Utilizes the aging report and DDE to monitor account balances and establish priorities for collection efforts.
  • Adheres to established closing schedule and agency timelines.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of (2) years experience in health care billing/collections preferably in home care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare and Insurance Managed Care processing, medical terminology, and coding.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills and telephone technique.
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and organization skills.

Pay range: $19 - $21 per hour
