Description
We are CURRENTLY seeking a Quality Engineer to join our growing team!
What does a typical day look like? I'm glad you asked!
You will provide CGT with the required support to maximize customer satisfaction while driving a continuous improvement philosophy to meet our internal key performance indicators within an ISO TS-16949 / IATF 16949 environment. Serve as a liaison for problem solving between the customer, manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure quality throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
  • Provide hands on support with the planning and implementation of systems that will improve or enhance the Quality Management System.
  • Manage quality related issues within the Manufacturing team (i.e. internal, supplier, customer PPM's and customer warranty).
  • Provide field support, as required, and conduct "return material analysis" to assess the root cause of customer complaints / quality issues and give direction on appropriate corrective action implementation and reporting.
  • Work collectively with and support Process Engineering and Product Development Teams in the planning, evaluation, and analysis of the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Have effective oral and documented communication with customers.
  • Prepare corrective action reports for customers and internal concerns.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators in support for periodic reports to upper management.
  • Support Product Development team with the approval of new or enhanced products for our customers.
  • As necessary, coordinate lab testing on required product.
  • Support in maintaining a workplace culture and environment that adheres to the company's core values and vision while ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
What You Offer Us:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of SPC for fast pace manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum Three (3) years of experience in a medium to large automotive, chemical, textile, or other fast paced high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum Three (3) years of professional experience in a Quality Assurance Engineer role for a medium to large automotive, manufacturing environment, utilizing TS16949 Quality Management System.
  • Have automotive-supplier experience as a Quality Engineer with a proven track record, utilizing PPAP, APQP, 8Ds, TS 16949. Must be intimately skilled in automotive quality systems, customers and processes.
  • Strong Knowledge of all aspects of automotive quality from APQP launch to customer contact.
  • Strong knowledge in Root Cause Analysis.
Brownie Points for:
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma.
  • CQE or CQM from ASQ or equivalent.
