Job Summary
The duration of this temporary role is approximately 3 months.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, the temporary Digital and Social Media Specialist is responsible for updating websites and social media accounts for Student Academic Affairs and the Graduate Division. The specialist also produces designs (flyers, social media posts) that align with branding, and managing communications and marketing projects. They must be able to work effectively with various stakeholders to develop project plans and work under tight deadlines to independently complete assignments.
Website:
- Meets with colleagues for a variety of digital communications projects including moderately complex assignments; develops, presents, and recommends web content, site architecture and visuals.
- Updates content and images/designs on various sites.
Social Media:
- Works with team members to create, develop, and implement and manage long- and short-term social media strategies and campaigns.
- Builds and manages various SAA-GD social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Creates shareable content (written, photography, design and video) appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.
Design:
- Creates flyers, social media images and designs for websites to promote the unit's programs, events and news.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Department Description
UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 1-3 years relevant experience
- Experience managing social media channels
- Experience creating flyers and social media designs
