Job Requirements / Description

This candidate will require the following experience:

  1. Five (5) or more years of experience in Cisco Nexus & Catalyst. Experience with Cisco Catalyst products, Unified Computing Systems.
  2. Five (5) or more years of experience with Cisco ISE and troubleshooting.
  3. Five (5) or more years of experience and expertise in Cisco Catalyst Center/ DNA Center, Enterprise networking and operational system fundamentals.
  4. Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) certificated.

This candidate will be expected to have the following experience:

  1. Enterprise Network Automation, DNA Center/ Catalyst Center.
  2. Cisco ISE, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  3. Remediating security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests.
  4. Mentoring junior engineers.
  5. Standard concepts, practices, and procedures specifically related to Cisco Enterprise network support.
  6. Ability to independently perform a wide variety of complicated tasks.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. A degree of creativity and latitude.

TASKS/DUTIES:

In addition to what is stated above, this project will require the Network Engineer SME to perform tasks related, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Assist in developing solutions to existing and upcoming technical problems.
  2. Install, upgrade and maintain DNA Center/Catalyst Center.
  3. Upgrade and maintain Catalyst Switches using DNA Center/Catalyst Center.
  4. Configuration updates to Catalyst Switches using DNA Center/Catalyst Center.
  5. Troubleshooting with ISE, maintaining and troubleshooting endpoints.
  6. Assist with supporting infrastructure solutions to existing or upcoming technical needs or problems.
  7. Implementation and support of data center network solutions. Analyze, assist with design, document, and migrations.
  8. Cisco router and data switch configuration, installation, and support.
  9. Develop remediation plans for security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests.
  10. Monitor, upgrade, troubleshooting and maintenance for the network infrastructure.
  11. Working with the State of Michigan DTMB CTO Network Services managers and Data Center Infrastructure Services staff.
  12. Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.
  13. Consult with vendor product specialists, independent research organizations, on-site support engineers on best-fit technologies to ensure compliance to department policies & standards and technology roadmap.
  14. Communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of various technical ability.
  15. Plan and develop support processes that adhere to best practices (ITIL).
  16. Provide support with performance analysis & troubleshooting.
  17. Provide direct support to technical and non-technical entities to define requirements and deliver solutions to meet organizational needs including new environment deployment, upgrades, performance tuning, testing and disaster recovery.
  18. Provide support and subject matter expertise with respect to adherence to best practice security framework controls and other industry-based regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-37, 800-53, 800-171, 800-204, 800-207, CIS, PCI, IRS-Pub 1075, CJIS, and related).
  19. Build and maintain relationships across organizational teams.
  20. Provide resolution of conflicts, connectivity, and security issues.
  21. Prepare information for presentations.
  22. Mentor staff on tips, techniques and best practices to be utilized for the infrastructure environment.
