The Conversational Search Shopping team is looking for an innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Business Intelligence Engineer. The candidate must be detail-oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, excellent technical skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.


Key Job Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. The candidate must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done. This job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and have the ability to learn quickly. Primary responsibilities include defining the problem and building analytical frameworks to help the operations streamline the process, identifying gaps in the existing process by analyzing data and liaising with relevant team(s) to address them, and analyzing data and metrics and sharing updates with internal teams.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with the theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills
- Experience with the theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
