Location: Boynton Beach
Pay Rate: $100K -$125K annually
Working hours: M-F 8am to 5pm
Position Summary / Purpose
Provide leadership and overall direction to all activities related to accounting and bookkeeping, administration, human resources, office management, and safety. Work closely with all members of the management team to implement policies that reinforce the core values and culture of the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO as well as communications with the CEO of the company.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Function as an effective member of the management team, setting overall direction for the company and representing the administrative and accounting functions in all planning efforts.
- Prepare all budget and financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) as needed by owners, management team members, and other functional managers.
- Track and analyze monthly operating results against established budget. Approve and oversee financial reports
- Direct, coordinate, staff, and oversee all aspects of the company administrative and bookkeeping functions.
Oversee financial activities and provide backup support to Accounts Receivable, Invoicing Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
- Administer all employee benefit programs, maintain and update employee files, and interface with payroll process.
- Oversee and manage Payroll for 100+ employees internally
- Oversee and manage Payroll for internal employees working in multiple state locations with knowledge and experience of state and federal Tax requirements
- Ensure that all client account inquiries are responded to in a timely and professional manner.
- Support all company functions in recruiting and hiring new employees including Screening resumes and applications, sending questionnaires, conducting phone or in-person interviews, conducting pre-employment testing and background checks, and executing new hire orientation.
- Coordinate and assist with all terminations, layoffs, and leaves of absence.
- Understand and execute the end of month closing of books
- Build strong relationships with new and existing clients and identify opportunities for upselling or increasing client retention
- Serve as the main point of contact for all client inquiries regarding our portfolio of services
- Organize regular meetings with key accounts
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, and other professionals.
- Support continuous improvement in all company processes and procedures.
Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience
- Associate (2-year) degree in accounting or business or related field required with a bachelor’s (4-year) degree preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience including two (2) years of accounting and supervisory experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in progressively responsible Account Management and human resources positions.
Financial Reports and Documents
- Understands concepts of bookkeeping, account structures and the content of financial reports: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Able to interpret results and translate into focused actions.
Strategic Skills
- Comprehends the “big picture.” Determines opportunities and threats. Is comfortable contributing to the strategic plan and future direction for the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Strong math and accounting skills. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages and to interpret financial reports and analyze performance against business plans and industry benchmarks.
Computer Skills
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and computer software including NetSuite, MS Office, Word and Excel and bookkeeping software (e.g., Textura, OCIP).
