Job Description SummaryOur AEO Repair Engineering team is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of repairs for the overall Aeroderivative engine fleet including the LM500, LM5000, LM6000, LM2500, LMS100 and LM1600 products. The team is instrumental in supporting our Aviation repair shops and our customer repair shops to meet financial targets and enhance their repair capability to service the end users of our Aeroderivative products. The Lead Repair Engineer is an individual contributor who will work to make decisions, apply concepts and resolve issues on assigned projects guided by established business policies, procedures, standards and best practices. Impacts quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring moderate levels of operational judgment.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of repair and inspection technologies to meet short term and long-term business needsAbility to work across functions in the development, implementation, and final industrialization of a repair to support our shops and customer shops.Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services as it pertains to repair.Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting assigned projects to find creative solutions to complex problems with technical variety and/or interdependent processes. This will include being a resource for less experienced colleagues.Leverage prior experience and knowledge and broaden knowledge of one’s own technical discipline to meet product deliverables. This may require use of multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers, including leadership.Share engineering information and promote open dialogue. This includes timely communications on significant issues or developmentsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks is consistent with engineering policies and proceduresDeveloping specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
