Tax Partner
This is an exceptional career opportunity to join our reputable firm as a Tax Partner. Located in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, we are seeking either a seasoned Tax Partner or a dynamic Senior Manager or Director ready to step into a Partnership role. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage a substantial book of business within the real estate and high net worth individual tax sectors, demonstrating expertise in C and S Corps, fiduciary responsibilities, and partnership taxation. We provide an excellent work-life balance, supported by a four-day workweek outside of the peak tax seasons and substantial on-site collaboration within our dedicated team.
Compensation: DOE (Base salary potential of $200K - $400K)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review tax returns prepared by the staff and occasionally prepare complex returns ensuring utmost compliance and accuracy.
- Uphold technical proficiency in varied taxation areas particularly in individual, real estate partnerships, corporate and fiduciary tax practices.
- Stay familiar with both California and multi-state tax laws, actively using Lacerte tax software and BNA Tax Projection software.
- Mentor and train staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the firm.
- Engage effectively with current clients and cultivate relationships with potential new clients to fortify business growth and client satisfaction.
- Exhibit a strong sense of ownership and initiative by evaluating firm needs and contributing effectively outside designated hours as required.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current CPA license crucial for the role.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in taxation, specifically in real estate limited partnerships, and fiduciary and high net worth individual tax.
- Proven track record of high-level performance in previous tax-related roles, preferably as a tax partner or in a similar capacity.
- Residence in Los Angeles or willingness to relocate for this full-time, in-office position.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for effective team and client interactions.
- Ability to manage a substantial workload with high precision and quick turnaround.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Taxation or a Law degree (JD).
- Significant experience with BNA and Lacerte tax preparation software.
- Prior work experience in a high profile CPA firm, including Big-4 or national firms, or as a corporate tax director or VP.
- Entrepreneurial mindset geared towards improving and expanding business operations.
- Anticipated longevity in the role, willing to commit to at least another ten years in full-time capacity.
