We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager/Coordinator for a very reputable commercial flooring contractor. This person will support the project management team in the successful execution of commercial flooring projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for delivering high-quality results.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Strong ability to communicate with customers, construction teams and project management personnel on specifications, scope of work, cost, and performance challenges.
  2. Work in the field 50% of the time, collaborating directly with superintendents, labor crews, and other on-site personnel to ensure project success. Spend the remaining 50% of time on administrative tasks and coordination from the office.
  3. Strong knowledge of flooring products and installation, for problem-solving field issues during production along with identifying future challenges during the bidding phase.
  4. Ability to understand, evaluate and effectively respond to customer proposals/RFP's.
  5. Familiar with construction industry practices, methods, materials, installations, specifications, and conditions.
  6. Proficiency with various systems and software tools commonly used in the industry to effectively manage the estimating, project planning and tracking processes.
  7. Experience working on large flooring projects, assuring successful completion of cost, schedule, and quality expectations over an extended time while effectively managing risks.
  8. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Commercial flooring sales experience is a plus but not necessary.
  2. Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in commercial flooring or related trades.
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  5. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  6. Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  8. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
