We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager/Coordinator for a very reputable commercial flooring contractor. This person will support the project management team in the successful execution of commercial flooring projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for delivering high-quality results.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong ability to communicate with customers, construction teams and project management personnel on specifications, scope of work, cost, and performance challenges.
- Work in the field 50% of the time, collaborating directly with superintendents, labor crews, and other on-site personnel to ensure project success. Spend the remaining 50% of time on administrative tasks and coordination from the office.
- Strong knowledge of flooring products and installation, for problem-solving field issues during production along with identifying future challenges during the bidding phase.
- Ability to understand, evaluate and effectively respond to customer proposals/RFP's.
- Familiar with construction industry practices, methods, materials, installations, specifications, and conditions.
- Proficiency with various systems and software tools commonly used in the industry to effectively manage the estimating, project planning and tracking processes.
- Experience working on large flooring projects, assuring successful completion of cost, schedule, and quality expectations over an extended time while effectively managing risks.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commercial flooring sales experience is a plus but not necessary.
- Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in commercial flooring or related trades.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
