We are seeking a dynamic Mainframe developer with passion for technology and excellence to be part of the Move Money team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks).
  • Deliver new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment.
  • Serve as an informal leader: leading code reviews and mentoring junior team members.
  • Partner with scrum master and product owner to provide development sizing & cost analysis estimates.
  • Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery.
  • Support integration efforts to build whole systems from various subsystems.
  • Identify technology risks early and establish mitigation plans.

What you have

Required:

  • Must have Schwab Technology Domain experience gained as a Schwab Contractor for at least 18 months.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Engineering OR related degree.
  • Advanced experience working in COBOL, DB2, CICS.
  • Develop and install various types of source code into MVS system through code migration tools Changeman.
  • Automate job scheduling, handle dependencies, and enhance flexibility in Mainframe Jobs using scheduling tools Control-M.
  • Design, code and test application solutions and new project enhancements in JCL.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Must demonstrate a knack to figuring out solutions to complex problems.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience re-writing COBOL/Mainframe applications for C# modernization will be a plus.
  • Good experience developing/managing REST and SOAP-based Web Service API(s).
  • Experience with distributed multi-tier applications, WMI and SQL DB.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
  • Strong technical skills:
    • Analyze technical and functional application modules and provide estimate on design solutions.
    • Develop and implement DB2 interfaces, create basic and complex queries and query performance tuning in DB2.
    • Support application systems and maintain on-line screens in CICS environment.
    • Troubleshooting, clustering, shared queue, and publish-subscribe solutions in Message Queues.
  • Strong people skills:
    • Demonstrated ability and interest in coaching and mentoring team members.
    • Ability to participate in collaborative application and platform architecture design sessions.
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Effective relationship builder: ability to partner cross-functionality, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization.
