**Where you will work:_This position will be located out of Astounds Houston,
TX location._**
**A Day in the Life of the Construction Coordinator:**
* _Performs pre-construction field inspection to ensure completion of make-ready and existing aerial facilities owned by various power, telephone and CATV companies._
* _Responsible for working with and managing contractors, preparing detailed work prints, writing Job Cost estimates, and creating a bill of materials (BOM) for aerial and underground projects._
* _Performs field review of upcoming projects to ensure accuracy and necessity of proposed field construction._
* _Performs field inspections against invoices to ensure accuracy, ensure Astound specifications are met, and material usage is correct._
* _Responsible for forecasting material needs and coordinating with Project Manager and Warehouse personnel._
* _Provides regular project status reports to the Project Manager and Community Liaison Manager._
* _Provides supervision and support to OSP Inspector._
* _Responsible for coordinating with others to ensure the completion of make-ready work of existing aerial facilities owned by various power, telephone, and CATV companies._
* _Responsible for the implementation of project contracts awarded by the Project Manager, preparing Notice to Proceed, and creating a bill of material for aerial and underground projects. Perform unit price negotiations with contractors when the scope of work is outside the standard price schedule._
* _Responsible for forecasting material needs and coordinating with a purchasing manager._
* _Provides weekly project status reports to the Director of Construction, Project Manager, and Community Liaison Manager._
* _Drives a company vehicle in the course and scope of performing duties._
* _Other duties as assigned._
**What You Bring to the Table:**
* _Experience in word processing and Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Money preferred_
* _Must have working knowledge and experience with aerial and underground CATVtelephone construction methods and procedures_
* _Must have experience with reading and interpreting construction prints_
* _Must have 3 -10 plus years experience building and maintaining communications networks and Familiarity with AutoCAD is a must_
* _Must possess project management skills, the ability to make decisions, work with a limited amount of supervision and be able to read and interpret construction prints_
* _Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record per Astounds Fleet Vehicle Policy_
**Education and Certifications:**
* _Education: High school diploma or equivalent_
* _Certification: Certification for operating a bucket truck or pole climbing is preferred_ __
