Keith Willig Landscape Architecture (KWLA) is growing its design practice and is seeking a qualified Landscape Designer to join the team! KWLA is a small but busy studio with potential for new members to expand and deepen their experience. We are a close, small-knit group that prides itself on stellar office culture and creating new opportunities for coworkers.


Job Description and Responsibilities:

KWLA designs sustainable, modern residential landscapes throughout the bay area. As a Landscape Designer in our office, you will participate in the design process, from conceptual design to construction observation. You will gain exposure to our day-to-day operations by performing the following:


  • Manage custom residential projects; collaborate with the project team on design
  • Act as lead on project communications with clients, city offices, contractors, and consultants
  • Quality assurance for project deliverables
  • Establish schedules and manages deadline for the internal team
  • Mentor junior team members


The Qualified Candidate Will:

  • Have experience in all aspects of design and construction documentation; solving issues creatively and comprehensively
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Vector Works, Adobe, Microsoft, Excel
  • Be WELO experienced
  • Have California native plant knowledge
  • Oversee multiple, concurrent projects, managing scope of work, schedule, and budgets effectively
  • Possess an aptitude for independent and autonomous work, but also mesh well with team members
  • Be comfortable with and enjoy client interaction
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills


Applicants will have at least five years of work experience and either a Master's of Landscape Architecture or a five-year Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Environmental Design.
