We are currently looking for a Resident Engineer with construction experience in the New York City Metro Area within the rail transportation (NYCT, MNR, LIRR, PATH, Amtrak, NJ Transit) and infrastructure industry. The successful candidate is required to have a good understanding of the construction industry in the New York City Metro Area and experience working on public agency projects.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have a proven record of leading construction inspection staff for infrastructure and transportation projects in the New York City Metro AreaThis position entails all typical duties of a resident engineer with an inspection/office engineering staff, as well as project management on behalf of infrastructure clientsPlans, organizes, and supervises engineering and construction inspection activities for major transit projectsServe as the senior representative for the inspection of contractor construction activities, payments, processing and negotiation of claims and change ordersSupervise a staff of personnel consisting of engineers, inspectors, project control, office engineers, project administrators, and specialty sub-consultantsLeads progress meetings and interacts with client on a daily basis. Coordinates responses to RFI's and other technical issues with design engineersAbility to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contractsCandidate SpecificationBachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalentMinimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in the infrastructure and/or transit industry managing rail/transit projectsPrevious Resident Engineering experience working with public agenciesShould have experience with rail infrastructure projectsIf required, willing to work weekends and extended hours as necessary to properly oversee the projectProfessional Engineering License or ability to obtain in New York StateExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSalary Range: $110,000 - $135,000Benefits: 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, STD/LTD disability, holiday, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insuranceEquality, diversity and inclusionWe put equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all.
