We are seeking a highly motivated goal-oriented candidate to be part of an innovative Research & Development program to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of arthropods chemosensation ( The candidate will use molecular and electrophysiological tools to develop original approaches to drive research in the field of arthropod chemical ecology. Candidates will possess a deep understanding of the neural pathways, receptors, and ion channels which drive insect behaviour. Broad hands-on experience with cellular and molecular biology on arthropods is required, ideally on mosquitoes. Candidates experienced using electrophysiology and cell-based assays to study arthropod ion channels and receptors are highly encouraged to apply.
Your key responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in arthropod chemosensation to help conceptualize novel approaches to manipulate insect behavior.
- Independently design and run assays in the required time-frame.
- Perform data analysis and effectively communicate results between stakeholders.
- Present data at department meetings and external scientific conferences.
- Prepare manuscripts of scientific results and submit for publication in top-rated peer-reviewed journals, patent applications, and/or internal company reports.
- Maintain awareness of relevant knowledge and technologies.
We bring
- Being part of a result-oriented organization culture that fosters team collaboration and scientific excellence.
- The opportunity to contribute to projects with potentially great health and social benefits.
- The ability to be a part of a highly creative and imaginative team in an incredibly inspiring industry.
- A space to grow by encouraging and supporting curiosity and an open mindset.
- A culture that prioritizes safety and well-being, both physically and mentally.
- We offer competitive pay, career growth opportunities, and outstanding benefit programs.
You bring
- PhD in Biology or related field with 2+ or 5+ years experiences respectively in an academic or industry Research and Development laboratory respectively.
- Broad knowledge of neurobiology, preferably in the fields of chemosensation, with hands-on experience on arthropods, ideally mosquitoes.
- Ability to manage projects and drive the science behind the results.
- Expert molecular biologist, experience in Next-Generation-Sequencing, genome editing experience and/or computational programming skills a plus.
- Hands-on experience designing and performing ion-channel and receptor-based assays a plus.
- Excellent team spirit, communication skills and networking capacity in a multidisciplinary environment.
