SRE Delivery Manager
Rate: $70-80/hr. on W2
Location-Dallas, TX(Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and skills needed to meet operational goals.
- Service Delivery: Oversee the successful delivery of SRE services, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Incident & Problem Management: Manage and coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to services. Lead post-mortem analysis and implement improvements.
- Process Automation & Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, enhance system performance, and improve operational efficiency using best-in-class tools and methodologies.
- Collaboration & Communication: Serve as the bridge between engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure smooth, coordinated efforts across projects and day-to-day operations.
- Monitoring & Performance: Establish key metrics and monitoring strategies to proactively detect issues, and ensure system uptime and availability.
- Change Management: Oversee changes to infrastructure and services, ensuring compliance with change management processes and minimal risk to system operations.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning to ensure systems can scale with growing demand, providing recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with external partners and stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service delivery and contract adherence.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 4 years in an SRE, DevOps, or similar role.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a technology environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Deep understanding of Linux/Unix environments and networking.
- Solid grasp of software development and systems architecture.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide technical teams and collaborate across departments.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management practices.
- Experience in performance optimization and cost management in cloud environments.
