REVISED: 4/5/2021SUMMARY: Provide a fair and accurate on site evaluation of damage or loss caused by accident or natural event. Assess and record the extent of the damage, resources required and possible execution based upon the request of the client.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify primary and secondary electrical facilities including poles, primary wires, secondary wires, services, primary insulator, transformers, fuses, reclosers, regulators, OCS’s substations etc.Identify and differentiate the difference between electrical, cablevision and telephone lines.Identify all necessary repairs required for restoration.Complete client specified damage reports in detailDetermine distribution crew type(s) needed for restoration of facilities as well as assign and schedule the work.Ensure crews have proper materials for restoration work.Complete any follow-up work required by the utility.Comply and adhere to electrical distribution safety rules as well as follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies.Perform other duties as assigned by management.COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures.RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE WORK GROUP: Exchange of information, which occasionally requires tact and/or diplomacy.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and coordinate the activities of a two-man team assigned to patrol distribution lines damaged by ice, wind, or other causes. Provide leadership for 3-5 assessment teams if required.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
