Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Taxpayer Services Customer Assistance, Relationship and Education- National Distribution Center
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

  • Loads and unloads trucks, carts, other conveyances, or pallets loaded with forms, supplies and other products. Moves, packs, unpacks, sorts, segregates, arranges, stacks, piles, or relocates a large variety of packages and other items. Cartons loaded, unloaded, or moved weigh up to 70 pounds. Assembles items, grouping according to receiving documents as necessary.
  • Selects and sets up proper storage areas for material within the general warehousing plan considering size, shape, quantity, use, and possibility of damage or deterioration. Stores, stacks, and palletizes items based on established procedures. Uses handcarts, dollies, and other manual and powered equipment to move stock.
  • Receives stock movement orders through paper orders, automated, or radio frequency devices. Identifies the location of required items using computer locator system or RF equipment. Pulls stock using appropriate equipment and delivers it to specified locations. Appropriately completes inventory-tracking information.
  • Pulls stock for bulk material orders from a computerized picking ticket, a paper label or list, or an electronic device or screen. Ensures the proper items are selected in accurate quantities and assembled for issue. Selects the correct revision and the correctly coded product for Distribution Program orders. Relocates stock in fulfillment areas, docks, and warehouses when necessary. Selects and assembles items for shipment according to established procedures. Ensures shipments are loaded into trailers properly to minimize damage in transit. - Uses bar code reader to scan bar codes on picking bins, stock locations, pick bins, picking lists, and other documents or locations. Scans bar codes on completed orders to generate manifests or other documents.
  • Uses radio frequency and other automated devices to assure stock accuracy and track order completion. May "cluster pick" several orders simultaneously following established procedures.

Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
WG-5 EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. To be qualifying your experience should demonstrate the following: Able to perform work that involves receiving, storing, and assembling for issue, shipment, and distribution, a wide variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities using mechanized, automated, and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems. General experience of the methods used in processing, handling, and storing of materials and equipment through a supply facility. Have experience following safety procedures to recognize and report workplace hazards. Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects that weigh up to approximately 70 pounds. Able to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop and reach.

  • Season is 8 to 10 months. Employees who work a seasonal work schedule are placed in non-pay status or recalled to duty as workload or budget dictates and in accordance with their seasonal employment agreement.
