Lighting Controls Solutions Architect

About the Position

Lighting Control is quickly becoming one of Power Design’s most important scopes. It is critical to ensure code compliance while also incorporating interior design and lighting ambiance. It requires a knowledge of both high voltage electrical work/circuitry and low voltage systems, making it a very niche scope. We are looking for a Lighting Control master to join the Systems Center of Excellence Team.

Position Responsibilities

1. Work closely with all groups within Power Design, interfacing with Systems PMs, Electrical PMs, Estimating, Superintendents, Field Teams, Engineering, Design Team, Programmers, and customers/General Contractors. Must be comfortable discussing all aspects of the scope at varying complexities.
2. Be organized and take ownership of the scope. Help drive project success by identifying and mitigating issues early.
3. Provide QC oversight at all stages of the project including Estimating, Design, and Production. This requires a good understanding of part numbers, reading drawings, and understanding how the wiring and systems work in real life.
4. Lead kickoff meetings with Field and PM teams to introduce the System to be installed and provide guidance on installation requirements and best practices.
5. Travel to jobsites is expected, with potential for up to 50% travel.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

1. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
2. Passion for both the Lighting Control scope and project success.
3. Skilled knowledge of the Lighting Control scope from both a code/design perspective and an installation perspective.
4. Certified Lighting Control Professional (CLCP) from NALMCO; PDI will assist in obtaining this certification if not already held.
5. Understanding of multiple manufacturers within the LC scope.
6. Strong desire to learn and grow.
7. Ability to work among a diverse team with varying positions and knowledge levels.
