Position Overview:

This critical role is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of production, maintenance, engineering, and machine shop departments in processing materials or manufacturing products to achieve all manufacturing demands. Direct responsibility for improving overall systems used in producing these products to maximize labor, materials, and equipment. Serve as a member of the facility staff.

What you will do:

  • Plan and direct manufacturing activities and establish manufacturing priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with purchasing, sales, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production.
  • Plan and evaluate master production schedule and adjust production capacity to attain 100% of scheduled work.
  • Generate cost savings through process improvement and labor reduction activities.
  • Maintain cGMP compliant production operations.
  • Attend facility meetings and educate others on the staff about current manufacturing doctrines (Lean, 6-Sigma, Kaizen Events).
  • Provide input into the monthly financial forecast (Labor, Absorption, Spending).
  • Work closely with the quality group to ensure manufacturing products are produced in accordance with approved specifications, drawings, and other documents.
  • Oversee and evaluate the development of improved manufacturing methods.
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirement, and workflow, design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confer with other management team members regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Train and develop subordinate supervisor personnel.

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or Engineering discipline.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred).
  • 8 – 12 years related experience in Medical Device or Medical Manufacturing, Material Management.
  • Proven success in the implementation of improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kanban, 5S, Visual Manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to articulate, lead, and execute to support the vision, objectives/goals of the organization.
  • Ability to develop a team of professionals (engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, etc.) for optimal performance/productivity.
