Northwest Specialty Hospital , an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6223 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services.
The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.
Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff.

This Clinical Supervisor opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convienient night shift schedule. This position performs a dual function, clinical and managerial. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting, performs disciplinary actions, participates in hiring and termination of staff. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides direct and indirect patient care as necessary, assessing current patient care situations, priorities and needs.
- Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
- Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.

Qualifications
- Current NV State Registered Nurse Licensure.
- A minimum of 3 years’ nursing experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification as appropriate for department specific.
- Specialty Certification preferred.
- Bachelors in Nursing preferred or enrolled in an accredited program within one-year of employment or transfer into supervisor role.
