Fresenius Kabi has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting month-end close and ad hoc accounting activities at the Melrose Park Facility. The position has a strong focus on Capex Management and will be responsible for reviewing, submitting, and reporting on fixed assets and Capital Project expenditures for the Melrose Park site to ensure accurate, timely and complete data in accordance with Fresenius SE & Co. (“FSE”) and Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) guidelines. This position will work closely with department managers to review that new and existing purchase orders and prospective capital spending are aligned with budget. Capital Expenditures will be reported monthly to management and will maintain project data availability to all project teams. This position will be responsible for tasks related to month-end close, including but not limited to: preparing and submitting journal entries, analyzing financial impact from production orders and inventory, and reconciling general ledger accounts as required.
*This position requires working on-site in Melrose Park, IL 3+ days per week. Remaining days may be worked remotely.
Responsibilities
- Audit all project CPA request packages to ensure all items requested have appropriate number of quotes, user requirement specifications, negotiation protocols, bid waivers, legal and risk review per Capital Project SOP 10-01-04-0023. Also ensure proper approval signatures are obtained.
- Audit all project capital purchase requisitions to ensure alignment with budget and approved quotes.
- Ensure spending records of open capital projects and spending are accurately reflected and review reports for any discrepancies or deviations to ensure proper expense allocation.
- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, Quality and others departmental staff to collect and gather any necessary data relevant to the project.
- Review open balances on Capital purchase orders and closes them as needed.
- Capitalize project assets in SAP once projects are closed.
- Create journal entries associated with project spending accruals when applicable.
- Maintain and audit project asset tag logs and asset disposals in accordance with corporate accounting guidelines and GAAP.
- Assist with budget/forecast expenses and capital projections.
- Prepare journal entries as assigned and submits for booking.
- Reconcile Added Value (“ADV”) to established production reports.
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Ensure month-end close tasks are completed on time.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA, CPA, CMA a plus.
- 5+ years’ experience in progressively challenging accounting/finance positions.
- Must be proficient with SAP and Excel as well as knowledgeable in all other Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of controlling, financial and operational analysis, cost accounting, inventories, GAAP, computer systems and SAP.
- Prior Capital Project experience a plus.
