Job Summary:

The Contracts and Compliance Manager will be responsible for supporting and advancing the Company’s centralized contracting function, including initiation, review, execution, and retention as part of the full contract to retire lifecycle. Responsibilities include drafting and standardizing contracts, engaging in negotiations with third parties, reviewing contracting terms in support of the business’ objectives, and maintaining the Company’s centralized contracting database.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Contract Reviews and Standardization
    • Draft, review and negotiate contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other corporate agreements in accordance with company policies.
    • Manage confidentiality agreements and healthcare professional (HCP), as well as non-HCP, consulting contracts.
    • Lead negotiations of contracting terms with external parties.
    • Generate standardized contracting templates to be utilized by the organization.
    • Engage with and lead internal stakeholders with key contract terms and contracting inquiries.
    • Review HCP meeting and engagement requests and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on applicable healthcare compliance rules; provide support to clients and external vendors that engage HCPs to ensure compliance with corporate policies and Aggregate Spend reporting requirements.
    • Identify and proactively resolve or escalate complex contract issues.
    • Lead both internal and external cross-functional teams to facilitate the contracting function.
  2. Corporate Policies and Contract Database
    • Assist with the maintenance of, and adherence to, the Company’s contracting policy(ies) and delegations of authority.
    • Assist with and enforce the routing of corporate contracts.
    • Lead the maintenance of the corporate contracts database, ensuring that all contracts are maintained in accordance with Company policies, including the appropriate meta-data.
    • Responsible for compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure that all contracting reviews and execution are performed in a timely manner to aid in achieving corporate objectives.
    • Oversee monthly reporting on expiring contracts and upcoming contract obligations, initiating renewals, modifications, or terminations, as applicable.
    • Other duties, as assigned.

  4. Knowledge & Other Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, or a comparable field.
    • A minimum of five years of contract management and compliance experience, including a demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions.
    • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple critical tasks simultaneously.
    • Able to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as within a team environment.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, as well as Adobe documentation management.
    • Experience with contracting database administration.

  6. Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:
    • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
    • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
    • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $124,000 to $150,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual’s salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

Base salary is one part of the overall compensation package, which includes the opportunity to participate in employee stock purchase programs and performance-based bonus programs.
