Job Description

Allstate Insurance Company is looking for a current 3L Law student to join the Client Litigation Services (CLS) Department as a Senior Consultant I (3L Law Clerk). CLS represents policyholders in claims-related litigation/disputes across the country and defends the Company in low and moderate exposure bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.

While awaiting the results of the bar examination and subsequent admission to the bar, under the direction and supervision of an admitted attorney, the Senior Consultant I prepares pleadings and motions, conducts discovery, including reviewing documents, interviewing clients, preparing trial materials, and summarizing and analyzing research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review new file assignments and draft initial pleadings (e.g., answer, motion, etc.) and draft discovery
  • Prepare briefs to assist clients in presenting cases in small claims court (CA)
  • Draft responses to discovery demands
  • Assist clients in answering questions regarding discovery
  • Review and serve responses to discovery demands
  • Assist attorney in preparing materials for trial, arbitration, or mediation
  • Attend arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and trials with admitted attorney

The position begins in early to mid-August while waiting for results of the bar exam.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (Required)
  • 2024 3L Law student; awaiting bar results

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $62,800.00 - 114,175.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
