Preparation of estimates for use in selecting vendors and subcontractors. Develop project objectives by reviewing plans and conferring with management. Analyzing blueprints, construction documents, specifications and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates by using technical concepts. Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, performance standards and specifications. Applying scientific principles and techniques to problems of estimation, cost control, business planning, profitability analysis and project management. Evaluating the structural designs and ensuring construction activities meet the specifications of construction codes and other regulations. Consultation with stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues through project completion. Utilizing Estimating Software, RSMeans, and Primavera P6. Preparation and the negotiation of contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Preparation of RFIs, change orders, and submittals. Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems to assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, and services. Tracking actual costs relative to bids as projects develop. Conducting studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline plus two years-experience in the job offered or related position.The minimum required experience in the job offered or related occupation must include two years of experience with the preparation of estimates for use in selecting vendors and subcontractors; Setting up cost monitoring and reporting procedures to assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, and services; applying scientific principles and techniques to problems of estimation, cost control, business planning, profitability analysis and project management.
