This role is vital to the operations within the restaurant because you’ll:

  • be responsible for running a profitable restaurant
  • make sure the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
  • work with your supervisor and Owner Operator to set the restaurant’s goals and create a plan to achieve these goals
  • hire and develop Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team to reach its goals

To meet your restaurant goals, the General Manager leads a team of Department Managers with specific responsibilities in the restaurant. This includes:

  • helping the Department Managers set their own goals
  • following up on their progress by providing coaching and direction
  • knowledge and understanding of P&L, food cost, and labor percentage

  • Lead the experience: Manage all aspects within the restaurant, including food production, guest service and experience, and direct crew and manager work
  • Plan for success: Proactively lead and manage restaurant processes including training, coaching, and motivating
  • Be in the know: Make critical business decisions around inventory, budget, and food ordering/costs
  • Take action first: Ensure food safety measures and goals are achieved to McDonald’s standards of excellence
  • Inspire and Empower: Maintain high standards for guest and employee safety
  • Be results oriented: Oversee all operational needs of the restaurant, including maintenance plans to meet and exceed standards of excellence
