Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Working with a highly talented team, you'll play a key role to build and run one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.

This is an engineering role with responsibility for enabling modernization in the Order Management domain and execution for GPC’s vision of a unified order management platform.

The Senior Software Engineer, Supply Chain OMS will be part of the team that supports NAPA Order Management applications across the United States. The individual will take direction from the Manager, works with other Engineers, Senior Engineers, Product Managers to Develop, Configure, Test and Support the Systems as well as mentor other Engineers.

  • Plans and Aligns – Creates new and better ways for the organization to be successful; Delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; Works with the Product Team to ensure user stories are developer ready, easy to understand and testable; Collaborates with other team members in agile processes; Relates openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people; Adapts approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • Supports and Enables – Helps grow junior developers by providing guidance on modern software development frameworks, and leading technical discussions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Location:

  • GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office.
  • We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work a hybrid remote schedule.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years (3+ preferred) years of software development experience, preferably with high volume Order Management domain
  • Experience working with Packaged Order Management solutions with development and configuration experience (preferably IBM Sterling OMS or similar, deployed as SAAS or an on-prem Cloud solution)
  • 2 years (3+ preferred) experience developing extensions of DOM and OMS systems, preferable Sterling OMS. Expertise in Java/J2EE, XML, XSLT, Oracle and Middleware technologies.
  • Experience in building cloud native microservices using Spring Boot or equivalent.
  • Experience in designing event driven mechanisms, publish/subscribe models.
  • 2+ Experience with cloud computing on at-least one of major providers (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure) STRONGLY Preferred.
  • Experience in destructive testing methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
  • This is an engineering position, and in our team, we believe in “always production-ready” code.
  • This job requires 70% coding and configuration tasks every day
