VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer for our Devens, MA location. This is a hybrid role.


Job Purpose

The Digital Organization at VulcanForms is responsible for the systems and services powering our AM solutions and manufacturing processes. VulcanForms operates 24x7x365 advanced manufacturing facilities. All services are high available services deployed to on-prem cloud native infrastructure. As a senior software engineer you will be responsible for design and hands-on development of critical, reliable, high performant services. Services need to meet high reliability metrics dictated by the high compliance industries and customer VulcanForms provides solutions to.


Key Accountabilities:

  1. Design scalable, fault-tolerant services that align with our high-availability requirements.
  2. Develop and maintain services using best practices in software engineering, focusing on performance, reliability, and security.
  3. Ensure all services meet or exceed the reliability metrics and compliance standards of our industry and clients.
  4. Establishment and management of Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives (SLI/SLO).
  5. Work closely with cross-functional teams including SRE, Quality, Manufacturing Engineers and Operations to ensure seamless integration and operation of services.
  6. Continuously optimize services for performance, scalability, operability, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  2. Proven experience in designing and developing high-availability services, preferably in a cloud-native environment.
  3. Familiarity with compliance standards relevant to high-compliance industries.
  4. Expertise in programming languages relevant to service development (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and cloud-native technologies.
  5. Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and containerization technologies.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to software development and system improvements.
