Duties & Responsibilities
Duties andResponsibilities:
ContractAdministration and Negotiation:
  • Process, draft, andnegotiate a range of sponsored research agreements, starting with outgoingsubaward modifications and new Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) outgoingsubaward agreements, eventually progressing to incoming award agreements, equipmentloan agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDA), Material Transfer Agreements(MTA) and more.
  • Collaborate with theOffice of General Counsel, Export Control, Tech Launch Arizona, and otheruniversity administrative/compliance offices as needed.
Compliance andReporting:
  • Ensure compliancewith prime award terms, university policies, procedures, and federalregulations throughout the subaward lifecycle.
  • Maintain and updatea database to track the status of subawards and amendments.
Policy Developmentand Guidance:
  • Assist in theformulation of guidelines, procedures, and the development of templates andtools for agreements.
  • Provideinterpretation and guidance on university policies and procedures to academicdepartments.
    Interpret and applycomplex funding regulations and guidelines to ensure proper contractmanagement.
Knowledge andProfessional Development:
  • Maintain up-to-dateknowledge of current developments in policies, laws, regulations, and bestpractices related to university agreements.
  • Participate inprofessional development opportunities and contribute to departmental knowledgesharing and training.
  • Additional dutiesmay be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience and 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Federal regulations require that the incumbent be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or have another protected status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to be ITAR/EAR compliant.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree, such as a J.D., MBA, or other advanced degree; sponsored research experience, university administration experience, and/or Certified Research Administrator Certification (CRA); or experience in business administration, contracting/subcontracting, or legal office.
