Class Description
The purpose of this class is to work with Undergraduate Research Students at CCBC to promote student success by providing comprehensive student support services and designing and facilitating workshops, speakers, program events and other high-impact activities.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM related field, higher education, or counseling related fields. Two (2) year of successful experience working with collegiate-level programs fostering retention or achievement is required. Experience working with adult learners providing instruction, advising, and/or academic support services is required. Experience advising or providing other support services to college students studying in STEM related fields is preferred.
This is a Grant-funded position.
Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. Serve as point of contact for students enrolled in undergraduate courses.
  2. Implement strategies related to the grant operations and services.
  3. Prepare, analyze, provide, and maintain reports on grant activities and outcomes as requested.
  4. Maintain grant related files, as required
  5. Conduct and attend meetings as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties
  1. Provides wraparound student support to all participants to help them address challenges inside and outside of school including, but not limited to, developing successful study habits and time management skills, communication, working individually with faculty, attaining work experience, transfer preparation, financial aid assistance, and referrals to on- and off-campus services as needed, etc.
  2. Works with faculty and project partners to deliver high-quality and engaging program orientations each semester to build cohort community, introduce faculty and partners, and implement study skill development.
  3. Meets with each student individually once per month to assess progress, relay information from professors, make necessary referrals, etc.
  4. Organizes and Facilitates Study Skills workshops as needed covering topics such as, but not limited to, Time Management, Stress Reduction at School, etc.
  5. Creates and distributes all program marketing materials including fliers, applications, etc.
  6. Assists students with registration to ensure successful completion of the program.
  7. Communicates and shares program information with Four-Year transfer institutions.
  8. Provides transfer direction and guidance for current and potential students.
  9. Works with the PI's faculty and external evaluator with grant administration including the collection and distribution of data.
