About the Role:

We seek an experienced Epic Expert to provide comprehensive training and consultation on various Epic modules, particularly someone who has worked on the clinical side directly with patients to help train on, flowsheets, dotphrase templates, and other specialized functionalities. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Epic software and a strong understanding of best practices for integrating Epic with other healthcare systems. This role involves training healthcare professionals and IT teams on optimizing Epic workflows, customizing templates, and adhering to industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Expert Training: Deliver training sessions on Epic modules, focusing on topics such as flowsheets, dot-phrase templates, clinical documentation, and other specialized tools.
  • Customization & Optimization: Assist healthcare providers in customizing Epic templates and workflows to meet organizational needs while maintaining efficiency and compliance.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Advise on and implement best practices for integrating Epic with other healthcare systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
  • Hands-on Support: Offer practical, hands-on training for both end-users (clinicians, nurses, etc.) and IT staff, ensuring they can confidently use Epic's functionalities.
  • Documentation & Resources: Create detailed training materials, user guides, and documentation to support long-term learning and reference.
  • Stay Current with Epic Updates: Keep up-to-date with the latest Epic system updates and recommend how new features can be leveraged to improve operations.
  • Collaborate with IT & Clinical Teams: Work closely with IT teams and clinical staff to ensure successful system integration and optimize the use of Epic in their day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with Clinical Epic Systems in a healthcare environment.
  • Epic Certification: Relevant Epic module certifications (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient, MyChart, etc.) are required.
  • Training Expertise: Proven track record in delivering comprehensive training programs on Epic functionalities, particularly flowsheets, dotphrases, and clinical documentation.
  • Healthcare Integration: Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and the technical aspects of integrating Epic with other hospital systems (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Epic functionalities for diverse healthcare settings.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT specialists, and administrators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in consulting or leading Epic implementations.
  • Ideal background would be RN, MD, or other direct clinical skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA compliance).
  • Familiarity with Epic data analytics and reporting tools.
