About the Organization

Sweetwater Country Club was developed in 1980 and first received major notoriety as the new home for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Golf architect Roger Packard designed the 36-hole golf course with the first nine holes opening in late 1982. The Club hosted the LPGA Hall of Fame Golf Classic in 1985 and 1986, won by Nancy Lopez and Amy Alcott respectively.


The Club offers a distinct private club with a full amenity experience for members and their sponsored guests as their “home away from home.” The Club is known for its golf course amenities, sports and fitness, social activities and member dining. Amenities include:


  • 36 holes – Roger Packard Signature Championship Golf courses (Pecan and Cypress)

Position Description:


Sweetwater Country Club, a premier private country club in the Sugar Land area, is seeking a talented and dynamic Food and Beverage Director to lead and manage our dining operations. This position requires a strong leader with a passion for delivering exceptional member experiences and the ability to oversee all aspects of food and beverage service at the club.


  • Leadership & Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all food and beverage outlets, including formal dining, casual dining, banquets, and special events.
  • Member Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional service standards are consistently maintained to meet the needs and expectations of club members and guests.
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and develop cost-effective strategies to increase profitability while maintaining high-quality food and service.
  • Staff Training & Development: Recruit, train, and develop a dedicated team of food and beverage professionals. Foster a positive work environment and ensure staff adhere to service standards and club policies.
  • Menu Development & Innovation: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative menus for à la carte dining, banquets, and special events that reflect the club’s standards and member preferences.
  • Vendor & Inventory Management: Oversee procurement and vendor relations, maintain accurate inventory levels, and ensure product quality and availability.
  • Event Coordination: Work closely with the Events Director and catering team to plan and execute weddings, private events, and club functions, ensuring seamless service.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all food and beverage areas comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive food and beverage management experience, preferably in a private club, resort, or upscale hotel environment.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred but not required.


Competitive Compensation:

  • Salary Range: Starts at $110K, plus annual performance-based bonus. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
