Summary:
The Director of Marketing and Communications for Riverside Healthcare plans and executes marketing, communication, and public relations activities and programs to extend and increase use of Riverside services; works with senior management to implement successful marketing strategies; formulates approaches, policies and programs to promote understanding and utilization of Riverside; develops and maintains communication channels with our multiple stakeholders; is responsible for the oversight of the website and social media platforms; develops marketing and promotional plans.
Licensure/Education Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Marketing, Public Relations or a related field required.
Experience Requirements:
  • 5 years of marketing communications experience in healthcare or a closely related field.
  • Previous management experience.
  • A deep understanding of best practices in communications and marketing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build consensus in a complex, heavily matrixed environment.
  • Excellent leadership and self-direction.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong writing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, as well as ability to interact effectively with physicians, clinical staff and administration.
  • Team-oriented outlook and the ability to collaborate effectively with marketing communications team.
  • Must work well under pressure of multiple projects having competing deadlines, and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent leadership, marketing and marketing analysis, project management and problem- solving skills.
Responsibilities:
The Position
  • Leads and manages a team that develops external and internal communications as well as communications strategy, positioning, planning, engagement and content development.
  • Leads a team of Marketing professionals with a variety of skill sets to accomplish the strategic advertising, promotion, communication, and public relations goals of the organization.
  • Proactively and strategically identifies, evaluates and pursues executive engagement opportunities-internal and external-that drive organizational strategy, increase system brand awareness.
  • Supports the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Helps leaders articulate the organization's vision, strategy and value proposition in an effective and engaging manner to high-impact target audiences including current and potential patients and their families; business, government, news media and community leaders; internal leaders and employees.
  • Creates programs and speaking opportunities that promotes the organization's image in a positive and community-oriented way.
  • Reports to the Vice President of Public Relations and Communication
Responsibilities
  • Leads communications initiatives, including developing and implementing a strategic plan, measuring impact and effectiveness of promotion, advertising and communications, and adapting communications for effectiveness and relevancy.
  • Ensures that brand standards are met and that the design functions support strategic priorities to effectively communicate.
  • Is a prudent user of the organization's financial and people resources to make sure that investments have a productive and measureable return for Riverside's mission.
  • Creates and maintains meaningful measures and reporting to effectively communicate the work and impact of marketing areas to Leadership.
  • Controls and directs focus and scope of Riverside web site and social media platforms.
  • Directs staff and coordinates with vendors to keep site reflective of organization's goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements annual marketing plan that supports the goal and objectives in the strategic plan.
  • Develops and reviews policies and procedures to support marketing functions.
  • Directs development and production of collateral materials insuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Directs preparation and release of publicity consistent with the organization's objectives.
  • Provides guidance and direction of marketing staff.
  • Provides quality control oversight for all materials produced by Riverside Healthcare destined for public consumption and internal audiences.
  • Provides, as needed, marketing support and assistance to departments and initiatives to meet established program goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for creation of advertising and associated communications that support the Riverside brand.
  • Serves as the lead media contact.
  • Serves as 'point person' with advertising agencies and department vendors.
  • Works with staff to develop and maintain positive media relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
