The Sr. Business Analyst plays a vital part of the Distribution and Logistics organization. This person serves as a key role in the development of logistics strategy, optimizing transportation networks and driving improved service levels to our stores and customers. This role will be responsible for developing new measures for performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, leading cost savings initiatives and procurement events across various transportation & delivery categories, that includes but not limited to: truckload, less than truckload, parcel, ocean freight, drayage, and parcel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support strategic planning, opportunity assessment, and implementation of new capabilities for a rapidly evolving logistics network including first mile, middle mile, and final mile
• Oversees the cost of transportation; evaluating cost per truckload, cube per truckload, and cost per mile in support of overall financial goals; ensuring transportation assets are fully utilized to reduce freight costs whenever possible
• Build moderately complex models that use simulation techniques to test different scenarios and optimize supply chain performance by evaluating trade-offs between cost, service levels and efficiency
• Analyze historic data, real-time information and market trends to develop "what-if" scenarios within the models to assess the impact of changes in our supply chain network; monitor model performance and refine based on feedback and changing business needs
• Design dashboards using advanced data analytics to evaluate logistics performance and advance speed in decision making; manipulate and visualize data and communicate with stakeholders
• Act as a subject matter expert and solution owner to enhance technologies that support our supply chain team: our WMS, routing software, rate benchmarking tool, port logistics platform and network modeling software's
• Support negotiations for transportation and logistics services delivering value at the service levels required by Discount Tire
• Motivate people to give their best efforts by goal setting, coaching, and communicating performance expectations, offering recognition and holding people accountable for results.
• Develop financial and operations metrics and reporting
• Anticipate challenges and disruptions to transportation flow and design mitigation strategies
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, pre-paid to collect conversion, shipping modes, product volumes or lane mixes, or carriers
• Drive site specific requirements at cross docks, warehouses, and ports to support the most efficient logistics operations possible
• Build and manage benchmarking metrics for Discount Tire's practices both internally and externally against best-in-class operations
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant experience with automotive or retail supply chain, logistics, and transportation, preferably in a high-volume environment
• 2+ years direct leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of multi-modal logistics pricing models (truck, ocean, drayage, parcel)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills (Six-Sigma, LEAN)
• Strong Data Analytical skills including SQL, Python, R, Excel, or MS Access
• Experience with TMS and WMS software applications
• Experience in process implementation and required internal controls

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or related equivalent experience is required.
• LEAN or Six Sigma Certifications a plus
