Job Requirements / Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

To coordinate, control and lead the execution of production processes. Maintains the highest level of accuracy. Maintains Darnel safety & quality standards in all aspects of job performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Must assist and/or fill in for the shift supervisor during absences and morning meetings.
  2. Monitors department operations and manufacturing processes to meet annual KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). Provides feedback when KPI’s are not met with specific goals to reach KPI targets (attainment, scrap, etc.). Reviews the daily production plan to ensure targets are met. Provides detailed information related to downtime and assists with development and execution of actions plans to improve results.
  3. Performs analyses to identify root cause problems. Works with Supervisor to identify action plans to eliminate process inefficiencies. Works with TF Operators on reducing nonstandard scrap. Develops action plans to reduce nonstandard scrap. Validates roll consumption per line, IOT (production monitoring system) accuracy, and machine cycles per minute.
  4. TF Lead Person supports TF Operators with assigning Packers to their machines, sheet color, box, product changes, process troubleshooting, and to ensure the necessary process adjustments are made in a timely manner. Ensure proper machinery and materials set-up and shift information is adequately communicated to the next shift. Monitors line settings and reacts quickly to any process changes to avoid major line disruptions.
  5. Provides feedback and may make recommendations to the supervisor regarding operator performance. Attend daily meetings to review daily issues and create plans to avoid future problems.
  6. Update manuals, production profiles and operation procedures and suggest changes to management. Trains personnel to ensure production operations run as safely, efficiently and effectively as possible. Validates training methods and makes recommendations for improvement to training process, checklists and testing.
  7. Documents and/or communicates shift issues or events to his/her supervisor. Assists the supervisor in reviewing the accuracy and completeness of the shift’s quality control paperwork, production tracking and computer data entry.
  8. Reports and communicates any machinery problems, repairs or PMs to the maintenance department and assists in machine repairs as required. Coordinate PM with maintenance manager. Utilizes the Work Order process to accurately capture noted repairs.
  9. Enters production data into PeopleSoft system and runs reports as needed. Generates labels for the area. Ensures all production supplies, including boxes, bags, labels, box tape, etc., are readily available for use.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead new products and trials.
  2. Maintains good housekeeping on equipment, floors, trash cans and waste according to AIB (ANSI International Standards of Baking) requirements.
  3. Performs any other assigned duties or tasks requested by management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Can read, write, and has a good command of the English language, both written and spoken and be able to perform simple math.
  3. Knowledge and ability to modify Excel and Word documents.
  4. Must be able to read and use measurement instruments.
  5. Forklift certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Vision correctable to 20/20.
  2. Lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to waist high.
  3. Frequent bending and stooping.
  4. Frequent climbing up and down ladders.
  5. Use a utility knife following prescribed safety regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The lighting is good, temperatures will be hot in summer and cold in the winter. Earplugs, eye protection, steel toed shoes and hair nets are required in the production area. Gloves, face-shield and other various types of protective equipment must be worn when working around certain equipment.
