We're seeking a seasoned Senior HR Generalist to nurture and strengthen our relationships with the dedicated veterinarians and hospital staff who make it all possible.

As a Sr. HR Generalist, you'll be the vital link between our corporate HR team and our veterinary hospitals. Your role is to advocate for our hospital employees, ensuring their HR needs are promptly addressed while championing our company's values, policies, and processes. From managing employee relations matters to overseeing leave of absences and benefits administration, you'll be a trusted partner to our veterinary teams.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sr. HR Generalist is a focal point of Companion’s relationships with our veterinarians and hospital teams. The position serves as liaison, advocate and trusted partner between Companion Pet Partners’ hospitals and PEO on all matters employee relations, leave of absences, benefits, policies and HR processes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as primary point of contact for HR-related questions
  2. Advise hospital management on employment matters, including policy and procedure interpretation, performance management and conflict/ complaint resolution
  3. Manage and resolve employee relations issues
  4. Recruit for Core Team (Corporate) positions
  5. Facilitate the onboarding process for new teammates
  6. Administer the leave of absence and accommodation process
  7. Support with the launch of annual HR tasks (performance reviews, open enrollment, merit/bonus administration)
  8. Manage the day-to-day relationship with the PEO vendor
  9. Maintain electronic personnel files
  10. Coordinate the offboarding process
  11. Collaborate with IT, Payroll, Finance and other Core Team members as needed
  12. Stay updated on relevant employment laws
  13. Adhere to Companion policies, procedures, DOL, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations
  14. Perform other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5+ years of related HR experience required
  2. Strong skills in the following areas:

  5. Organizational skills and attention to detail
  6. Analytical and problem solving
  7. Time management and prioritization
  8. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  9. Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  10. Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or SHRM/ HRCI certification required

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  1. Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now
  2. Proficiency with GSuite, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
