The ideal Project Manager not only understands the high quality of the work provided by RE Tech Advisors to its clients but also has a passion for sustainability and health and wellness within the commercial real estate industry. This detail-oriented and analytical individual assists the Director of Green Building Certifications in managing health and wellness certifications such as Fitwel. Tasks include policy writing, technical calculations, analyzing building drawings for strategy compliance, and compiling clear, concise documentation.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills, this project manager is in direct communication with property teams and internal team members.

This organized person remains flexible with changing priorities and can multitask efficiently. The ideal candidate is a true team player who supports the Director and works with Project Associates to complete tasks. This Project Manager is a self-starter and takes the initiative to complete tasks independently with the help and guidance from the Director. This person understands the importance of meeting deadlines and being respectful, honest, organized, detail-oriented, and driven to provide quality work.

About The Job (Responsibilities)

  • Hold regular calls to guide property teams through the Green Building Certification (GBC) process.
  • Create budgets and proposals to pursue GBCs.
  • Prepare Gap Analyses for health and wellness projects such as Fitwel.
  • Ensure each project stays within a set budget.
  • Communicate directly with property teams.
  • Determine the most appropriate rating system/scorecard to use based on client needs and unique property characteristics.
  • Develop/update policies related to green purchasing, pest control, food and beverage, indoor air quality, etc.
  • Review construction drawings to determine compliance with health and wellness strategies related to building access, stairwell design, outdoor spaces, workspaces, shared spaces, and water supplies.
  • Calculate access to daylight, views of nature, showers, bike storage, etc. to determine Fitwel Compliance.
  • Administer transportation and occupant comfort surveys.
  • Recommend strategies to improve occupant health and wellbeing.
  • Complete documentation including policies, statements, annotated photos/plans related to green building certifications such as Fitwel.
  • Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects.
Essential Knowledge, Skill, And Abilities
  • Passion for sustainability and green buildings
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar field
  • Green Building Accreditations including Fitwel Ambassador
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven track record of managing projects independently
  • Detail-oriented and analytically inclined
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, change priorities, and keep up with a continually heavy workload.

Travel Requirements
Periodic travel is required for the role. Travel may include travel to RE Tech offices, if remote, or between RE Tech offices (Fairfax, VA and Dallas, Texas) for meetings (estimate of four times per year) and for Legence and/or client business needs.
