Reports to: Production Manager Classification: Full-Time Direct Reports: None Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Department: Weatherization Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City is a nonprofit organization providing programs and services to low-income residents of Jackson, Platte and Clay counties, Missouri. Program Description: The Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program (LIWAP) provides cost effective energy efficient home improvements to Missouris low income households in Clay, Jackson and Platte counties. The programs purpose is to lower utility bills and improve comfort while ensuring health and safety. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GEDExperience working with the publicAbility to calculate mathematical formulasAbility to read, comprehend, and follow training manual guidelines and proceduresExcellent listening and assessment skillsAbility to carry, climb and balance on a ladderAbility to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and on occasion lift and move up to 50 poundsAbility to work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insectsMust have a valid driver license and maintain active car insuranceSome evenings and weekends required occasionally Preferred Qualifications: BPI Envelope Professional and Building AnalystEnergy Auditing and/or Associates degree in Energy Science or related filedProblem solving skills Essential Job Functions: Perform client interviews and educate clients about energy conservation, evaluate weatherization and heating system needs using standard methodsPrepared detailed work scopes and comprehensive work orders, pricing, measures, and quantities for proposed retrofit workReview all projects before issuing work orderDiscuss findings with Production Manager and recommend necessary changesPerform Residential Energy Audits in accordance with Weatherization Assistance Program standardsAnalyze energy bills and the results of the energy audit using computer softwarePrepare written report of audit findings, including retrofit recommendationsIdentify health and safety issuesComply with company safety policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality of client informationPerform quality checks after products are installedMaintain accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork requiredAdjust to frequent changes in duties and proceduresBe nonjudgmental and objective in working with clients, vendors and coworkersWork independently and/or team settings and adhere to deadlinesAbility to work efficiently and effectively in high stressful situationsRepresent CAAGKC at special events, meetings and/or remote locations to collect and/or inform applicants of programs and servicesInform participants of other CAAGKC programs and services they may qualify forAny other duties as assigned Physical Demands: Sitting - 5% Standing - 60% Bending - 20% Lifting - 15 % Work Environment: In office - 10% Out of office - 90% Perform work indoor and outdoor, exposed to all temperatures and weather conditions. Possible exposure to hazardous situations, cramped, dark, and small spaces while performing job duties. Uniforms: Uniform shirts, safety gear and tools are provided. Uniform gear must be worn in conjunction with company policy. All company issued property must be returned in good working condition upon separation of the organization.
