The Social Marketing and Communication (SMC) department within FHI 360's U.S. Programs is a national leader in applying a science-based approach to social marketing and communication to address public health and other challenges in the U.S. SMC currently implements a diverse portfolio of social marketing, public relations, communication, and training and technical assistance projects in the U.S. that are funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, private associations, and foundations.

Job Summary:

The Associate Project Director, Partners - HIV Campaign is a key position that will lead the strategy development and approach for providing training, technical assistance and support for CDC grantees and other partners as part of the CDC's Let's Stop HIV Together campaign. This position will lead the partnership component of the campaign, providing technical assistance, evaluation, and administrative support to CDC grantees, state and local health departments, community and clinical campaign ambassadors, and other partners to expand the reach and impact of the Together campaign.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and implement the partnership strategy for the Let's Stop HIV Together campaign, including providing technical assistance to CDC grantees and other partners.
  2. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget.
  3. Develop high-quality plans, strategic documents, and reports.
  4. Present technical assistance plans and strategies to the client.
  5. Establish work plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide project activities.
  6. Provide guidance and training to staff to achieve project goals.
  7. Establish and manage vendor relationships for communication programs and projects.
  8. Contribute to business development activities related to partnerships.
  9. Support performance management and professional development of direct reports, if applicable.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in communication and social marketing, education, gender, health, research, technology, or a related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of the key issues in CDC contracts.
  3. Knowledge of CDC policies and procedures strongly preferred.
  4. Experience working in sexual health, HIV or HIV communications strongly preferred.
  5. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to direct work within tight schedules and under pressure.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style of working.
  8. Prior experience mentoring, supervising, and leading other team members.
  9. Proven experience in providing training and technical assistance.
  10. Strong project management and coordination skills.
  11. Experience in organizing and managing events, both in-person and virtual.

Experience:

  1. 10+ years of relevant experience providing technical assistance and developing partnerships.
  2. Prior supervisory experience required.

Typical Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to spend long hours looking at a computer screen.
  2. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

Travel Requirements:

  1. More than 10%.

US Based Hiring Salary Range: $100,000 - $152,000
