Position Overview :

The Real Estate Senior Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of real estate strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. This position focuses on optimizing property use and value through the management of a diverse portfolio of properties. Responsibilities include negotiating land and building sales, lease agreements, and managing various operational needs of the real estate portfolio. Working within a small team of dedicated professionals, this role reports to the Associate Director of Real Estate.

The Senior Associate’s primary responsibility is to assist various internal entities with their real estate needs. The role will involve direct support to the Director and Associate Directors in property dispositions, lease structuring, and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review and evaluate due diligence materials such as title reports, surveys, and zoning analyses to determine property viability for market.
  • Manage project tracking and prepare written updates on project status, ensuring timely communication and approvals.
  • Negotiate and structure property dispositions, new leases, and lease renewals, ensuring competitiveness with the local market.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, tenants, and stakeholders, maintaining a service-oriented approach.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of real estate market trends and values.
  • Establish relationships with real estate professionals across various markets.
  • Draft clear, concise reports on deal opportunities, market conditions, and development potentials.
  • Provide support in portfolio management through data tracking and assisting with other departmental functions as needed.


Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial real estate or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate practices, including deal flow, zoning, land use policies, and the analysis of surveys, appraisals, and title reports.
  • Familiarity with public processes such as environmental and historic reviews.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in relationship-building.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience drafting professional reports and correspondence.
  • Proven project management and organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Business, Law, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in commercial real estate, project management, asset management, or lease negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


Preferred Skills :

  • Strong background in real estate rather than property management.
  • Knowledge of land use regulations, specifically within the New York City area.
  • Experience handling acquisitions and managing due diligence processes.
  • Familiarity with title reports and related documentation.
