Job Description

Job Summary
Operate equipment to control and blend chemicals in the processing of products. Cleaning and loading of tanker trailers in truck dock, as well as material staging for the production areas, tote washing, receiving, and putting materials into storage locations, inventory consolidation and general housekeeping.
Duties &Responsibilities

  • Support all Environmental, Health, Safety and LEAN programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Control and make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical blending, quality, and product yields.
  • Monitor and calibrate recording instruments, flow meters, process indicators, in order to verify conformity of process conditions.
  • Control and operate chemical blending processes.
  • Turn valves to regulate flow of products through agitator tanks, storage drums, or neutralizer tanks.
  • Calculate material requirements or yields per formulas.
  • Record operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings.
  • Confer with technical and management to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Draw samples of products and conduct quality control tests in order to monitor processing, and to ensure that standards are met.
  • Record operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings.
  • Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations, as directed by supervisory personnel.
  • Start pumps to transfer material, wash and rinse tanks, vessels, to exhaust gases and vapors, to regulate the flow of oil, steam, air, and to add products to blending vessels.
  • Interpret chemical-blended products through quality control sampling, and review laboratory test reports for any necessary process adjustments.
  • Patrol work areas to ensure that solutions in tanks and trenches are not in danger of overflowing.
  • Notify maintenance, and other personnel to correct equipment malfunctions and to adjust plant utilities (power, steam, water, or air).
  • Document tank levels regularly, using calibrated gauges.
  • This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the shift and overall plant.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED


Required:

  • Minimum of 6-month related batch chemical blending/ formulation experience with hazardous materials
  • SAP experience required
  • Able to operate forklift in safe manner
  • Able to lift 50lbs daily
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime when needed to meet customer orders
  • Ability and willingness to be part of the Department of Homeland Security's Personnel Surety Program
  • Ability and willingness to work the day shift 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator as required
  • Ability and willingness to operate a fork truck


Preferred:

  • Associate Degree (two-year college or technical school)
  • 2 years' related batch chemical blending/ formulation experience with hazardous materials
  • 1-year analytical testing experience
  • Ability to direct the flow of production.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail and proficient math skills
  • Proficient with computer, SAP and Microsoft Office skills
  • Team player, individual thinker
  • Customer-focused; positive attitude

  • Standing for 8-hour shifts.
