Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Financial Services Counsel to join their team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing thorough factual and legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing financial services litigation matters from commencement to resolution. This role requires strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple cases.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive factual and legal research and analysis for pleadings, memoranda, and other written documents.
  • Draft pleadings, case documents, and other related legal documents.
  • Attend hearings throughout the greater DFW and Houston areas as needed.
  • Manage litigation matters from inception to final resolution.
  • Communicate competently and professionally with clients and supervising attorneys.
  • Prepare and review essential litigation documents.
  • Stay current with federal and state court procedural rules and practices.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services litigation.

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organization and matter management skills.
  • Professional and effective collaboration with clients, partners, associates, and support staff.
  • Ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed.
  • Familiarity with federal and state court practices, including preparation of answers, motions, and discovery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience attending and managing hearings.
