Job Description

The Trade Sales Specialist III is primarily responsible for the sales and marketing of a wide variety of complex international products to regional importers and exporters; acts as a liaison between customers and product and service departments of the Bank to support sales, implementation and service issues; acts as key client relationship partner to ensure all international needs are addressed; monitors and reports on market condition/trends so the Bank and International Banking will remain competitive in affected markets; provides subordinate officers with functional guidance.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will create an annual international marketing plan, manage banking relationships with clients using international trade services, and track all client data in Salesforce.
  • You will manage client relationships, advise on suitable products and services for trade activities, and support Account Managers with customers involved in foreign trade.
  • You will develop marketing materials, provide on-the-job training, and support less experienced sales consultants and bankers in marketing, new business development, and servicing.
  • You will advise clients and bank partners on political and economic risks in overseas markets and help devise strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • You will promote and sell all bank products and services, refer customers to the right departments, seek new international business, and coordinate efforts with other bank departments.
  • You will promote FX trading and hedging strategies to clients and prospects, while referring potential opportunities to FX traders.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree and 5-7 years’ experience in international business/international sales; Or equivalent work-related experience of 11-13 years.

  • In-depth knowledge of all International Banking products
  • In-depth knowledge of Letter of Credit, Foreign Exchange, and Trade/Finance techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of international banking procedures and international affairs
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Advanced knowledge of world economics, political situations in different countries, and world geography
  • Excellent knowledge of Bank operations
  • Excellent PC and software skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal including customer relations, presentation and sales skills
