Position Summary

This individual will play a lead role in directing, planning, assigning, verifying quality, and monitoring the production department. The production supervisor will supervise operations, personnel, and activities and stay in communication with upper management and merging teams. The shift supervisor can determine priorities for the department's operations in conjunction with the production schedule. The supervisor is responsible and held accountable for the implementation and follow-through of all policies, practices, and procedures related to operations and personnel.

Top Priorities

  1. Track and maintain press output and efficiencies to keep up with daily goals.
  2. Inspect and work with the QC team to confirm that decorated products and specifications are met.
  3. Production Scorecards, Monthly KPIs, and Performance Evaluations for every shift and team member on the Print team.

Position Duties

  • Ensure every employee completes documented safety training before operating machinery and all safety procedures are followed every day.
  • Make recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, print quality, and innovative ideas.
  • Responsible for keeping presses on track with their production schedules. Anything off track must be communicated to the manager before missing or at the end. Communicates with screens and inks to ensure jobs are ready before a machine ending and waiting for their next job. Study production schedule to confirm order completion and tracking of labor hours. Ability to adjust work procedures to meet production deadlines.
  • Analyze and assist in problem solutions including but not limited to orders, projects, personnel, equipment, etc.
  • Communicate with employees about any work-related news, changes, events, etc.
  • Communicating with other departments leads to coordinating the daily activities. Supporting departments: GCI, Ink, Darkroom, Art.
  • Keep up with the organization and cleanliness of the print shop, equipment, and tools to provide the safest environment for all personnel and company standards. Press areas, walkways, and machines should be kept clean and organized at the end of every shift. No ink on walls, equipment, or floors.
  • Ensure an approved sample is hung and acknowledged by press leads and belt catchers for all reorders and approved production.
  • Sign and date tickets before moving from decoration to shipping.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to keep up with company culture and team/individual work goals.
  • Do root cause analysis if quality issues arise.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to senior management as required.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bilingual (English|Spanish) is a requirement.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
